Tottenham Hotspur prepare £13m bid for Joe Rodon
Talks with the Welsh club are ongoing. Despite the European window shutting, Premier League clubs can conduct business with lower league teams until October 16.
The 22-year-old is seen as a priority by Jose Mourinho as he looks to cap off what has been an incredible summer of recruitment. Spurs will face competition for the defender from West Ham.
The Welshman has two years left on his contract with the Swans. He is keen to play top-flight football and Spurs can grant him just that.
The major point of contention is the difference in the player’s valuation. Swansea are holding out for £15m. But Spurs could loan him back to the Welsh outfit for the duration of the season.
It was earlier reported that Tottenham could offer a player-plus-cash deal to land Rodon. This would have seen Cameron Carter-Vickers return to the club where he spent 2018/19 on loan.
Rodon came through the ranks at Swansea. The 22-year-old centre-back broke into the senior side in 2018 and has since has become a regular at the heart of the Swans’ defence.
So far, he has made 54 appearances for the Swans and is yet to score a goal for them.
