Twitter reacts as Tottenham Hotspur agree deal for Joe Rodon

According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur have secured the signing of Welsh international Joe Rodon from Swansea City.

The 22-year-old is one of the best young defenders in the Championship. He will now join up with international compatriots Gareth Bale and Ben Davies at the Lane.

Rodon will set back Spurs a maximum of £15m in transfer fee. The North Londoners will pay £11m upfront, with the rest made up in add-ons.

Despite being a right-footed player, Rodon is capable of playing on the left side of central defence pairing. This makes him a replacement for former star Jan Vertonghen.

As an added bonus, he has looked at home in a three-man backline employed by Jose Mourinho this season. Signing the defender caps off what has been an excellent window for Spurs.
