Fans react as Harry Kane scores his 200th goal for Tottenham

300 games, 200 goals – Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is something else. The Spurs academy man reached this mega-landmark in the first half of the club’s UEFA Europa League group stage encounter against Ludogorets.

The 27-year-old had a great chance to score his 200th soon after kick-off but, in an uncharacteristic manner, Kane shot over the bar from point-blank range. Soon after, he came close again, with his effort from distance bouncing off of the woodwork.

However, the moment finally came in the 13th minute, when Kane towering his marker, headed home a Lucas Moura to put Tottenham in front, and in the process, bag his 200th goal for the club.

This means that the 27-year-old, who is donning the captain’s armband on the night, is just eight behind Tottenham’s second-highest all-time goalscorer, Bobby Smith (208). Given how Kane has started the season, it should only be a matter of weeks before he reaches that milestone as well.

Given that he’s one of our own, fans were naturally sent into a tizzy when the landmark was reached. And they took to Twitter to celebrate the England captain’s exploits. Here are a few of the best reactions on social media.
