Leicester City believe Demarai Gray is on his way to Tottenham Hotspur

Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, reputed journalist Duncan Castles has claimed that Leicester City believe that winger Demarai Gray could be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24-year-old Gray has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the past. Speculations had heavily intensified after Jose Mourinho was seen talking to the Englishman after a game between the two teams last season. However, no move materialised in the summer transfer window.  (h/t Evening Standard)

Having stayed at Leicester, Gray has struggled to get game time at the King Power Stadium. Indeed, the former Birmingham City man has played just one game so far for the Foxes, with that appearance coming in the Carabao Cup.

Gray hasn’t been included in the matchday squad for a single Premier League game by Brendan Rodgers this season.

And, with the winger’s contract expiring next summer, Castles has claimed that there is a feeling within the Leicester camp that he could be on his way to Tottenham. The journalist, though, adds that there is serious interest in him from other Premier League clubs, as well as overseas outfits.

“I’m told that at Leciester they believe that he will be moving to Tottenham Hotspur. My understanding is that there is an interest from Tottenham, but that is not a guaranteed deal, he has interest from other Premier League clubs, there is also significant interest from overseas.”

Gray has been at Leicester for over four years now. A talented footballer with immense potential, he has never quite been able to carve out a place for him with the Foxes. However, given his potential, a move to Tottenham in the summer, on a free transfer that too, wouldn’t be the worst idea.
