Tottenham target Dominik Szoboszlai close to joining RB Leipzig
According to Sky Sports’ Maxi Bielefeld on Twitter, RB Salzburg attacking midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who has been linked with Tottenham of late, is on his way to German giants RB Salzburg.
The 20-year-old has fastly established himself as one of the most sought-after young midfielders in Europe, putting up some sensational performances for Austrian outfit RB Salzburg over the past couple of years.
So far, the Hungarian international has featured 80 times for the club scoring 25 goals and registering 33 assists. Szoboszlai has been in brilliant form in the 2020/21 campaign so far, racking up eight goals and nine assists in 19 appearances across all competitions. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Szoboszlai’s exploits haven’t gone unnoticed with serious interest emanating in his services from the Premier League with both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal eyeing a swoop for the 20-year-old. However, it is now being claimed that Leipzig are currently leading the race for his signing and are on the verge of completing the transfer, with the deal expected to be announced before Christmas.

It was always going to difficult to sign Szoboszlai when Leipzig were in the race, considering that RB Salzburg is their sister club, from where they have signed a number of players in the past. So, it doesn’t come as a major surprise that the versatile midfielder is heading to Germany in the January transfer window.
