Zlatan Ibrahimovic lavishes praise on Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily Podcast, former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has heaped praise on Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho, calling him ‘one of the best’.

The legendary Swedish centre-forward worked with Mourinho at two different clubs, having first played under him at Inter Milan before joining forces with him at Manchester United. He tasted success at both the clubs under the Portuguese and has now hailed the manager for the work he is doing at Tottenham Hotspur.

“He’s doing his job, he’s proved and has proven that he is a top coach, one of the best, so he is just continuing to do what he’s doing, so it’s not a surprise.

“The only thing is that he’s doing it with a different club now, so I know who Mourinho is as a person and a coach and the philosophy that he brings is a successful recipe. He’s just continuing to do things he was doing before.”

Mourinho took over the reins at Tottenham after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked in November last year. While there were plenty of question marks raised over his appointment, the Portuguese has answered the critics by taking us to the top of the Premier League table.

In addition, Tottenham also topped the UEFA Europa League group while also making it through to the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup.
