Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho questions Liverpool injury crisis ahead of key PL clash

As reported by the Express, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has questioned the extent of the injury crisis at Liverpool ahead of their clash on Wednesday night.

Heading into the top-of-the-table clash at Anfield, most of the talk has surrounded the amount of injuries Liverpool have had and the number of players they will be missing for the crunch game against Tottenham.

Mourinho, however, has had his say on the situation, claiming that apart from Virgil van Dijk, none of the key players for Jurgen Klopp’s side are missing. (h/t Express)

“I think Alisson is not injured. Alexander-Arnold is not injured. Matip, I believe that he’s going to play. Fabinho is not injured. Robertson is not injured. Henderson is not injured. Wijnaldum is not injured. Salah is not injured, Firmino is not injured, Mane is not injured.

“Van Dijk is injured and Van Dijk is a very good player of course. But give me Liverpool list of injuries and compared that list with what is the best Liverpool team.  Every club has injuries now and again. Liverpool has a big injury. Which is Van Dijk.”

There is a lot of sense to what Mourinho is saying. Apart from van Dijk and Joe Gomez, and maybe summer signings Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota, none of the players are regular starters.

And during their absence, the Reds have shown that they have the strength needed to cope with the said issues. So, it is understandable why Mourinho is having none of the talks of them being handicapped by injuries.

With both teams locked on 25 points, things are set up nicely for the game at Anfield. A win for us on Wednesday would be a huge statement of intent.
