Tottenham among a number of PL clubs interested in Patson Daka

According to The Guardian, RB Salzburg forward Patson Daka is on the radars of a host of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, ahead of the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old started out at Zambian club Nchanga Rangers FC and spent time at Green Buffaloes, Kafue Celtic and Power Dynamos FC (loan). After a six-month loan stint with Austrian outfit FC Liefering, Daka was picked up by RB Salzburg in the summer of 2017.

After a slow start to life at Salzburg, Daka burst onto the scenes in 2019/20, plundering 27 goals and 12 assists in 45 matches across all competitions for Salzburg. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Daka has once again been in scintillating form in the 2020/21 campaign for the Austrian giants. So far in the ongoing season, the Zambian forward has bagged 15 goals and 5 assists in just 17 games in all competitions.

Naturally, his progression and goal-scoring prowess at Salzburg has led to interest from a host of clubs from England. The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are said to be keen on the Zambian, as are Tottenham Hotspur. (h/t The Guardian)

Tottenham bolstered the attack with the signings of Carlos Vinicius and Gareth Bale in the summer. But, the former hasn’t been given a regular run in the side while the latter has struggled for fitness. With Jose Mourinho’s men competing on multiple fronts, adding another goalscorer to the ranks would be a sensible move.

And Daka, who can play anywhere across the frontline, can prove to be a game-changer. However, he is contracted with RB Salzburg till the summer of 2024, making any deal in January an improbability.
