Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg insists he wants to get better at Tottenham

Speaking to the club’s official website, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has claimed that he is driven to get better and better after a strong start to life at the club.

The 25-year-old joined Tottenham in the last summer transfer window, making the switch from Premier League rivals Southampton. After a difficult debut game against Everton, the Danish international has been a rock-solid presence in the middle of the park for us, establishing himself as an indispensable member of Jose Mourinho’s side.

Till date, Hojbjerg has made 28 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham. He has contributed with two assists, but it is his ability to read the danger and cut out threats in the centre that makes him such an asset to the team.

Reflecting on his strong start to life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Hojbjerg has said he looks back on the time with joy but insists that he is motivated to keep getting better and better.

“I have to say for the last six months, I look back with joy and with motivation to go forward. I think we’ve done well but what I really take as motivation is that I think we can do better.

“I’m proud of who I am, proud of what I do, but I want to be better and I have to be better. This is what drive me every day. It’s to be become better. I want to, I also have to become better.”

Hojbjerg also went on claim that the team, while doing well so far, can get much better as well.

“I think this is a nice situation to be in, to have played good football, to have performed well as a team, but still not performed as well as I know we can, every time.”

The 25-year-old has clearly made a huge difference since coming in. And it bodes well for the club that he is so much driven to get better.
