Tottenham weighing up £20m bid for Manchester United target Max Aarons
According to the print edition of Sunday Mirror (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur are set to battle it out with Premier League rivals Manchester United for the signing of Norwich City starlet Max Aarons.
The 21-year-old Aarons, a product of the Norwich academy, emerged as one of the few positives in a disappointing 2019/20 campaign that ended in relegation from the Premier League for the club.
The right-back finished the season with two assists from 36 appearances in the Premier League and has once again impressed in the Championship this term, with a goal and three assists from 25 matches.
Aarons had been heavily linked with a transfer to Tottenham in the summer transfer window. However, a move failed to materialise, with the club deciding to sign Matt Doherty from Wolves.
However, it seems like the club is back in the hunt for the young Englishman, who is also being pursued by the likes of Manchester United and Everton. It is claimed that Tottenham are weighing up an offer worth £20m for Aarons. (h/t Football.london)
Serge Aurier and Doherty have both not been entirely convincing in the right-back spot for Tottenham this term. Furthermore, the Ivorian will be entering the final year of his contract with the club at the end of the season.

So, looking at an option to further bolster the right side of the defence makes sense from the club’s point of view. And Aarons, given the potential that he has shown in his burgeoning career, can be a good long-term investment for Tottenham.
But, with interest from the likes of Manchester United, it remains to be seen if Tottenham are able to land the 21-year-old.
