Harry Kane urged to resist Real Madrid and cement legacy at Tottenham

According to the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane has been urged to stay put at the club and cement his legacy rather than moving to Real Madrid by Peter Crouch.

Over the past six years, Harry Kane has grown into one of the most prolific strikers in the game. The 27-year-old has time and again delivered the goods for Tottenham but is yet to win a single major trophy in his career.

Last year, the England captain dropped a major hint that he might look to move on from the club if his ambitions of winning titles and trophies aren’t met. However, Crouch, who is a former Tottenham player himself, has urged Kane to stay put at the club and not chase a transfer to a club like Real Madrid.

‘I think if you win something at Tottenham, it is going to mean 10 times more than going to Real Madrid and winning something. Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener. He’s a top player and he deserves the best so nobody can begrudge him anything if he wants to move.

‘But I just feel like if he thinks there’s a chance of winning something at Tottenham, I think it would mean far more to him than if he went somewhere and perhaps won a league title in a different country. Whereas at Tottenham, if he finishes there or he manages to win something there, they’ll have a statue built for him, wouldn’t they?’

Kane’s comments were made at a time when Tottenham had been going through a poor run on the field. This season, however, we are competing on all four fronts.

Indeed, under Jose Mourinho, Spurs have reached the finals of the Carabao Cup and are in the fifth round of the FA Cup as well as the knockouts of the Europa League. Currently sixth in the Premier League, we still have the chance to make the climb to the top given how close things are in the table.
