Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho aims a dig at Jurgen Klopp ahead of Liverpool clash

According to The Guardian, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has aimed a thinly-veiled dig at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ahead of their meeting later tonight.

Jose Mourinho’s men play hosts to the Premier League champions on Thursday night, aiming to grab a victory and break into the top four of the table.

And in the lead-up to the crunch clash against the Merseyside giants, Mourinho has taken a shot at the Reds’ boss over the fact that he is treated differently by officials when compared to the German.

“What I can say, is when I didn’t behave well I paid the price. And I paid the price in two ways: one was to see matches on TV in the dressing room and another price was big-money fines. I feel that, for some of the other guys, it doesn’t happen the same.

“But, if the referee and the fourth official are there to do that job, I just hope they do that job and act the way they have to act.”

This comes after the fact that Klopp’s histrionics on the touchline when the two teams met at Anfield earlier this season had been criticised by Tottenham boss. (h/t Express)

Mourinho is not the only manager to have questioned such actions and the lack of punishment, with the likes of Frank Lampard, Sam Allardyce also having raised their voices in the past. (h/t Express)

Tottenham are currently sixth in the table, two points below West Ham United in fourth. With Liverpool not having won a league game since mid-December, they are certainly there for the taking. Hopefully, Mourinho & co. make it count later tonight.
