Tottenham Hotspur star Giovani Lo Celso ruled out injured for another three weeks

According to The Guardian, Tottenham will have to make do without Giovani Lo Celso for another three weeks as the midfielder recovers from a hamstring injury.

The Argentina international has missed our last 10 games due to the same injury. Coupled with the loss of Harry Kane, it severely affects our attacking output and places too much burden on Son Heung-Min.

Lo Celso has made 19 appearances for us this season across all competitions. During this time, he scored five goals and made one assist. By doing so, he has already improved on his output from last season. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Signed originally on loan in the summer of 2019, the 24-year-old initially struggled to make an impact. The appointment of Jose Mourinho gave him a new lease of life and considerably improved his form. This saw Spurs make the deal permanent last January.

Lo Celso is one of our best creators from midfield and his absence will be felt. In fact, his injury was a major reason for Daniel Levy refusing to let Dele Alli leave on loan.

The Spurs star was linked with a move to PSG, where he would have reunited with former boss Mauricio Pochettino. But this was subject to Tottenham signing Christian Eriksen. With the Dane staying on at Inter Milan, Dele Alli will now spend the remainder of the season in North London.

Lo Celso will now miss crucial matchups against Chelsea, Manchester City, and West Ham United. Hopefully, he will return by the end of the month. With still so much play for this season, Spurs cannot afford to lose ground after all the hard work in the first half of the season.
