Jose Mourinho snaps at reporter over Gareth Bale question after Tottenham lose to Chelsea
According to The Guardian, Jose Mourinho hit back at a reporter for asking a question on Gareth Bale after Tottenham Hotspur lost to Chelsea on Thursday.
Tottenham slumped to a third defeat in a row, as Thomas Tuchel & co. handed them a 1-0 loss at home on Thursday night. It was another uninspiring display coming on the back of a shock defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
There was a general lack of ideas, the players looked devoid of any sort of plans to cause Chelsea problems. After the game, Mourinho lamented over the number of injuries that his team had as a reason for his team struggling in the attacking third.
However, when asked about why he did not use Gareth Bale, who was available and on the bench, Mourinho did not take to the question too kindly.
“Good question, but you don’t deserve an answer.”
But, when pressed further on the matter, the Portuguese tactician opened up, insisting that everyone was trying their best for the club.
“I’m doing my best, he’s doing his best. Everybody is doing their best.”

Bale being an unused substitute shouldn’t come as a major surprise considering how unimpactful he has been since returning to the club in the summer. The Welshman has struggled for form and fitness and was poor in the defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion.
It was another disappointing outing for the team. Up next is a game against relegation battlers West Bromwich Albion on Sunday noon. Another defeat there and our top four chances will be hanging by a thread.
