Tottenham stars growing concerned over negative tactics under Mourinho

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur players are growing concerned over the negative tactics employed by manager Jose Mourinho.

After a fine start to the season that saw Tottenham emerge as contenders for the title, things are starting to unravel for Mourinho at the club. The Lilywhites have lost three Premier League games in a row against Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea.

The manner of the defeat, with the team looking like lacking any ideas and inspiration in the attacking third, has only served to intensify the pressure on the Portuguese.

Now, it is being claimed that the recent run of results and the performances have hit the morale within the squad quite hard. Amidst the poor run, there are now growing concerns over the methods and the style of play that are being employed by the manager.

Indeed, there is a feeling that the conservative approach that the former Real Madrid man seemingly prefers is prohibiting the team’s attacking players from flourishing. (h/t Daily Mail)

In addition to this, there are also questions being raised over the lack of ambition and appetite shown by Gareth Bale. The 31-year-old Welsh wing-wizard returned to the club last summer, on loan from Real Madrid. However, he has struggled for form and fitness.

Most of his game-time has come in the cup games. And when given a chance in the Premier League, Bale has failed to make the most of it so far. There are said to be growing concerns over his lack of application and his lack of work-rate shown in the defeat against Brighton.

Tottenham take on relegation battlers West Bromwich Albion up next on Sunday. A win against the Baggies is very much important for us to stay alive in the race for the top four.
