Tottenham consider Ciro Immobile as Harry Kane replacement
According to Fichajes (h/t Daily Star), Tottenham could look towards Ciro Immobile as a replacement for Harry Kane. Immobile is only being lined up in the event Kane decides to leave the club this summer and join another abroad.
The Italian forward has had a stellar spell at Lazio since joining them in 2015. He has banked 144 goals in 206 appearances for the club. Although he isn’t exactly a replacement for Kane in terms of age and experience, he could be the option they could turn to as Kane’s replacement in case he leaves.
While Kane does have a contract until 2024, it could be the lack of silverware at the club that might just make him rethink his decision to stay at Spurs. Obviously, there have been no talks regarding his departure but Spurs have Immobile on their contingency plan should Kane’s departure come to reality.
Mourinho even praised Kane earlier this month, suggesting that all is well within the pair.
“Harry Kane is a special player in the history of the club. He will beat every possible record. We had very good individual performances today. At the end of the season you have the truth, we will be where we belong, where we deserve to be.”
