Transfer News: Tottenham could sign Gareth Bale on a permanent deal
In what should be good news for the fans, according to Express, Tottenham could be given the chance to sign Gareth Bale on a permanent basis from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants could look to sanction a sale with Bale hitting some form over the last few weeks.
With his 2 goals against Burnley, Bale now has 4 goals in four games. This has been the best run Bale has been on since returning to Spurs on loan last summer from Real Madrid. However, Jose Mourinho could ask Wales to ease some pressure on the winger, with international games to come at the end of this month.
Another underlying reason for Real’s urge to sell is the fact that they want to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG. After this season, Bale will still have one year left on his contract. However, the Spanish giants are keen to get his mammoth salary off their books. That will help them put together the package they need to sign Mbappe in the summer.
Mourinho spoke about wanting to play Bale in all games but was disappointed that he can’t.
“Our players are going to be on a 10-match run in March, which is crazy. Seven for the club plus three for national teams. Gareth is a player we need to take care of. He is playing all the minutes that he can and that we feel are good for his evolution. I want to play him on Thursday and Sunday, and next week against Dinamo – but I don’t think I can.”

It looks like Bale is finally producing some of the form and skill he was known for. After struggling with constant injuries and niggles, he is now featuring on a more consistent basis. Real Madrid can only hope that he can sustain this run of form and fitness so they can cash in on him.
