Jose Mourinho hails Tottenham attack after Palace win
Jose Mourinho has come out all praises for his Tottenham side after their win over Crystal Palace (h/t Daily Mail). The 4-1 rout meant that Spurs have now scored 100 goals in all competitions this season.
Through much of Mourinho’s Spurs stint, he has been branded as a defensive manager, setting up his side to just attack on the counter and sit deep. Nonetheless, the win over Palace gave Mourinho a good chance to hit back at critics for labelling them as a defensive team.
‘For us next in the Premier League it is Arsenal away, Aston Villa away and Newcastle away so this is what is waiting for us around the corner and try to be happy when we can. Today we can after three victories in the same week and if the stats I was given are correct, 100 goals scored in the season (in all competitions), which, for a very defensive team, a very negative team, is not bad.’
The last win was an important one for Tottenham as we have now won three on the trot. We are now firmly back in the race for a top-four spot.
