Team News: Latest Tottenham injury update ahead of Dinamo Zagreb game

Tottenham take on Dinamo Zagreb in their first leg of the Round of 16 in the Europa League. Jose Mourinho’s men are in fine form with 4 wins on the trot in all competitions. They dispatched off a hapless Wolfsberger side by an 8-1 aggregate scoreline to progress into the round of 16.

Spurs have shown a marked improvement in recent games with their attack clicking rather well. They have also kept things tidy at the back. With Dinamo Zagreb set to visit Tottenham for the first leg, here are some injury updates (h/t Football.london).

Serge Aurier

The Ivorian has been missing from the team since the Fulham game. He is believed to have had a calf injury. However, Mourinho suggested that it was not a serious case but Aurier does not feel good about a muscular injury.

“Serge I believe yes. He had that injury then he played the last match until minute 70, 75 when he started feeling his calf again. He doesn’t have an injury, he has just not the best feelings after a muscular injury. I believe he is going to be [ok], I believe, but to be honest I was so happy with Matt Doherty’s performance [against Fulham].”

While it was expected that he would play against Palace, it was Doherty who lined up. Aurier will again be expected to make it to the side this time.

Giovani Lo Celso

Finally, some good news regarding the Argentine as he is back in training with the team. Lo Celso has been out since December due to a hamstring issue. Mourinho gave an update regarding Lo Celso.

“For Gio, I don’t think so, I don’t think so for Sunday, but, but there is maybe an opportunity, but I don’t think so. I will believe [more likely] for Europa League on Thursday.”

There could be a good chance for him to feature on Thursday. It could be a short cameo off the bench as he has just returned to fitness.
