Tottenham reject loan approaches for Oliver Skipp for next season
According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur have turned down enquiries from several clubs over the possibility of taking promising youngster Oliver Skipp on loan for the next season.
A product of the Tottenham youth academy, Skipp broke into the first-team last season. The young central midfielder was sent out on loan to Norwich City last summer and he has been in tremendous form for the Championship outfit.
Indeed, Skipp has started each of Norwich City’s 35 league games this term playing a vital role in their dominance in the second division. The 20-year-old has also managed to chip in with a goal as well.
Impressed by his growth and development, several clubs from the Premier League are said to have asked Tottenham about taking Skipp on loan for the next season. Norwich City themselves have enquired about the possibility of having the midfielder for another term, with promotion to the Premier League seeming a certainty.
Tottenham, though, have rejected all the requests for Skipp’s loan. The report claims that the Lilywhites have been left thrilled by the manner in which Skipp has progressed this term. And a first-team role has already been mapped out for the youngster ahead of the next season.

Tottenham have lacked the ideal partner for summer acquisition Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this season. Harry Winks has flattered to deceive while Moussa Sissoko doesn’t offer the necessary quality on the ball. With Tanguy Ndombele more suited to an attacking role, someone like Skipp could be seen as an option to play alongside Hojbjerg next term.
And if he is able to keep up the same kind of form as he is showing at Norwich, it wouldn’t be long before he becomes a regular fixture in Jose Mourinho’s side.
