Transfer News: Tottenham among clubs monitoring Michael Olise

According to the latest transfer news from Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are among a host of clubs monitoring Reading starlet Michael Olise.

The 19-year-old has been on the books at Reading since 2015 having arrived from the Chelsea youth academy. Olise made his first-team debut for the Royals in 2019 and has since steadily grown into a key member of the first-team.

The attacking midfielder is enjoying the best season of his professional career so far in 2020/21, having managed five goals and ten assists from 35 matches in the EFL Championship this term.

The promise Olise has shown at such a young age, coupled with his contract situation has sparked a flurry of interest in his services. Indeed, the French youth international will be entering the final year of his contract with the Championship at the end of the season.

And, as per the report, he has rejected multiple proposals from the Royals over a new contract. Throw in the fact that Olise’s current contract has a release clause worth just £8m, it shouldn’t come as a surprise as to why clubs are lining up to sign him.

The likes of Leeds United, Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool and Arsenal are keeping tabs on the 19-year-old. Along with these clubs, Tottenham are also monitoring Olise with a view of a potential transfer in the summer, as per the news update.
