Transfer News: Tottenham star Harry Kane a ‘primary target’ for Real Madrid

According to news from SER Deportivos (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham striker Harry Kane has emerged as the primary transfer target for Real Madrid ahead of the summer window.

The 27-year-old Kane has evolved into one of the best strikers in the game over the past half-a-decade. With over 200 goals for Tottenham already, the England captain is regarded as an icon at the club. Despite success at an individual level, Kane hasn’t been able to win a single piece of silverware during his time with Spurs.

With the current season also looking to end trophyless, questions have been raised over his future at the club. Now, it is being claimed that Real Madrid have made Kane their primary transfer target for the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid are in desperate need of a new striker having been overreliant on Karim Benzema for goals since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure. But the Frenchman is also 33 and needs to be gradually phased out of the side, making a top-class centre-forward a priority for the reigning Spanish champions.

The likes of PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland have all been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid. However, as per the report, the Spanis giants have narrowed in on Kane as a deal to sign him would be ‘easier’ in comparison to Mbappe or Haaland.

This is because Kane is represented by his sibling, Charlie, who handles his transfer and commercial business as an intermediary. Mbappe also is represented by his relatives but there is a feeling that the intermediaries would make the deal expensive, while Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola, is known to be a tough customer to work with.

But, it is extremely unlikely that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will let go of his prized superstar that easily. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the Spurs ace. Hopefully, the club can convince him to stay put and not leave.
