Transfer News: Tottenham target Lucas Vazquez in advanced talks with Bayern Munich
As per claims from Spanish news publication AS (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham transfer target and Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez is in advanced talks to join Bayern Munich in the summer.
Vazquez, 29, came through the ranks at Real Madrid and broke into the senior team in 2015 after a stint with Espanyol. Ever since he has been a regular first-team member, making vital contributions with his work-rate and versatility.
The Spanish international has been particularly impressive this season, both as a right-winger as well as a right-back, acting as a key attacking outlet for Real Madrid on the flank. However, his future at the club is uncertain as he is in the final few months of his contract with the Spanish champions.
Tottenham have been credited with a serious interest in Vazquez, as have our Premier League rivals, Everton. However, it seems like the winger could be set to snub a transfer to England in favour of a switch to German and European champions Bayern Munich.
Indeed, Vazquez is said to be in advanced talks with the Bavarian giants over a summer move, who are hoping to quickly tie down a deal for the Real Madrid star.
This ought to come as a major blow for Tottenham. While he may not be the most starry names, Vazquez is a solid player who has years of experience at the highest level and can contribute vitally to the team.

With Gareth Bale’s loan spell coming to an end soon and Matt Doherty not settling in well, he could have been an option for Tottenham at right-wing as well as a right-back. Throw in the fact that he would cost nothing in transfer fee, it would have been a shrewd deal.
But it seems like Spurs are set to face defeat in this transfer race.
