Former Real Madrid chief believes that signing Tottenham striker Harry Kane is very tough

Talking in an interview with TalkSPORT (h/t football.london), Ramon Calderon stated that signing a player like Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane, is next to impossible for Real Madrid at the moment.

Los Blancos have been linked with a move for the superstar recently. And with Spurs losing to Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Europa League, Kane has been linked with a move away from N17 in order to win trophies.

The 27-year-old striker has spent his entire career on Tottenham’s books, scoring 219 goals for the club. But he has, unfortunately, never managed to land any trophy during his Spurs stint.

The club last won a trophy in 2008, which was the League Cup. And the same trophy now remains their only hope for a title this season as they prepare to face Manchester City in the final in April.

Relief for Tottenham

But Calderon, who was a former President of Real Madrid, states that a big-money transfer to Santiago Bernabeu is very unlikely. The fee being quoted for Harry Kane is somewhere around £150million.

“There are always rumours at this time of the season. They are talking about Mbappe, Haaland… too many players. We are not in the best form economically-speaking because we are refurbishing our stadium spending a lot of money. It will be difficult to spend money in the summer.”

So it seems that Madrid would be off Spurs’ backs when it comes to pricing Harry Kane away from London. He is undoubtedly Jose Mourinho’s main-man upfront.

The Englishman has recorded an astonishing 43 goal contributions in 40 games in all competitions and doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon. (h/t transfermarkt)

But with Spurs out of the title race, the FA Cup, and now Europe, it feels like Kane is being let down by his teammates.
