Barcelona believe they could beat Real Madrid to Harry Kane transfer
According to Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t Express), Barcelona have a firm belief that they could beat rivals Real Madrid for the signing of Tottenham superstar Harry Kane.
Kane’s future at Tottenham has been a subject of intense speculation for quite some time now as we enter the business end of the season. Real Madrid have been credited with an interest in the England captain as they eye a marquee addition to the attacking ranks.
However, Barcelona, under newly-elected president Joan Laporta, are also keen on securing ‘a statement transfer’ and see Kane as the ideal target, despite their financial troubles, as per McGarry.
And the transfer expert further adds that Barcelona have a strong belief that they could beat Real Madrid to sign Kane as Los Blancos have Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe as their top targets before the Tottenham star.
“We understand Kane is third on that list of strikers for Real Madrid but that Barcelona, and the second term of their president Joan Laporta, understands that he must make a statement signing and sees Kane as one that he might be able to persuade given that Madrid are more interested in Mbappe and Haaland.”
Kane was recently asked to comment on his future, when he appeared non-committal and left the door open for an exit.

With a host of top clubs lining up to sign the England captain it remains to be seen if he stays at Tottenham beyond this season. Failure to secure Champions League football for another season could certainly force Kane’s hand into considering an exit.
