Jose Mourinho takes a swipe at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of Tottenham vs Man United

According to the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has aimed a massive dig at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of the game against Manchester United.

Spurs will welcome Solskjaer’s Red Devils to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. Given how crucial the game is for us with respect to the top four race, Mourinho seems to be trying to get under the skin of his opposite number already.

Solskjaer, in a recent interview, had claimed that winning trophies isn’t everything for a club, insisting that it only served to massage egos. He had added that for some managers it was about building long-term foundations.

Taking aim at those statements, Mourinho has claimed that the legendary former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson would disagree with the Norwegian. The Spurs boss, who won the League Cup and the UEFA Europa League during his time at Old Trafford, insisted that trophies are important.

“It’s his opinion. I’m pretty sure his big boss Sir Alex had a different opinion about it. But I respect what Solskjaer thinks. I think different. Freedom of thinking, freedom of ideas, and if that is what he thinks that is fine by me. It’s not a problem for me, he’s not being disrespectful to anyone.

“But I repeat I believe his big boss, and the biggest in Premier League history, has a different view in relation to that.”

Mind games at its place, Mourinho needs to walk the talk for Tottenham. The Portuguese hasn’t won any trophy since his success at Old Trafford in 2017. He has a chance to end that this season with Spurs, given that we are in the Carabao Cup finals.
