Tottenham Hotspur could become the first team to do the double over Solskjaer’s Manchester United

According to the official Premier League website, Tottenham Hotspur could become the first team to do the double over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United if they win later tonight.

Both teams have much to play for in the crunch clash. While Manchester City’s loss could give United hope in the title race, a win for Spurs would see us rekindle our aim for a top-four finish.

Jose Mourinho got the better of Solskajer in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford. The 6-1 win was us at our marauding best and hopefully the same follow tonight. No team has gotten a double over Solskjaer since he took over at United. Given how he replaced Mourinho at Old Trafford, the Portuguese would be making a statement if he will be the first to break the barrier.

Interestingly, Spurs have also failed to get a double over United in the Premier League era. Breaking that jinx tonight could be the right motivation we need to end the season on a high. With the Carabao Cup final yet to come, we still have much to play for this season.

Spurs ace Harry Kane too can join an elite list of Premier League scorers if he finds the net tonight. The English skipper is one short of 20 Premier League goals this season. Scoring one would see him become just the fourth player to net 20 or more league goals in five different seasons. The others on the list are Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry and Sergio Aguero.

Both Mourinho and Solskjaer have been involved in a war of words leading up to the clash. The Spurs boss can once and for all put his Norwegian counterpart down tonight. Whatever Ole says, it remains a fact that Mourinho has achieved more at United than he has and possibly ever will.
