Jesse Lingard urged to snub Arsenal and join Tottenham by Jamie O’Hara

Speaking to talkSPORT (h/t Football.london), former Premier League footballer turned pundit, Jamie O’Hara has urged Jesse Lingard to move to Tottenham Hotspur over the likes of Arsenal, West Ham in the summer.

Lingard, a player contracted to our rivals Manchester United, made the switch to West Ham United on loan in the January transfer window in search of regular playing time. Since landing at the London Stadium, the 28-year-old has been the most in-form player in the Premier League.

Indeed, Lingard has produced a tally of eight goals and four assists in just nine games for the Hammers, forcing his way back into the England national team as well.

This has led to serious transfer interest in the Manchester United attacking midfielder, with West Ham keen on signing him permanently. In addition to that, both Arsenal and Tottenham have also jumped into the race for Lingard as well. Ex-Spurs ace O’Hara has now urged the Englishman to make the switch to Jose Mourinho’s side. “I personally don’t see any point leaving West Ham for Arsenal. I just don’t see Arsenal pulling up any trees over the next few seasons and I can’t see them going out and spending big money. He should go to Tottenham. We’re miles above Arsenal. Arsenal are average, so average, and we’re on a rebuild. Sign for Spurs.”

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

Lingard, in his current form, will be a fine addition to the squad without a doubt. The 28-year-old is a player that Mourinho knows very well from his days managing Manchester United. In fact, Lingard played some of his best football under the guidance of the Portuguese.

With Dele Alli not featuring heavily in the manager’s plans, someone like Lingard can prove to be a shrewd signing.
