Ralf Rangnick offered Tottenham Hotspur job by Daniel Levy
According to Christian Falk of BILD (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur have offered Ralf Rangnick the managerial job as the hunt for Jose Mourinho’s replacement drags on.
Tottenham fired Jose Mourinho from the managerial post last week after a run of disappointing results. With the Portuguese’s 17-month reign coming to an end, the search for a replacement has been going on ardently ever since.
However, Tottenham have had to deal with setbacks along the way with the likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag all snubbing the club. (h/t The Guardian)
This has seemingly forced chairman Daniel Levy to consider what one would think is a left-field choice in the form of Ralf Rangnick. The 62-year-old has been in management since 1983 and has had an influence on the methods of Thomas Tuchel, Jurgen Klopp as well as the aforementioned Nagelsmann.
At one point, Rangnick was courted by our Premier League rivals Manchester United and Everton as well. And now, it is being claimed that Tottenham have already approached him with a job offer, according to Christian Falk.
“We have already talked about how Rangnick and Tottenham could become hot, and I have now heard quite specifically that he was offered the job. In any case, he is on the shortlist, and that means talks will come.
“From the club, he still hears a bit of scepticism, but he’s already held talks with Manchester United and Everton in the UK in the past that never quite worked out. There must have been reasons for that, we don’t know them all, but it’s nice that he’s now being discussed. They need a new Tuchel, and in the UK, they believe the German coaches have done a lot of groundwork, which could be a big ace in the hole for Rangnick to Tottenham.”

Rangnick’s last job was with RB Leipzig, where he stepped down in 2019 following the arrival of Nagelsmann. Experienced, tactically astute, the German might not be at the top of the list for fans but could certainly be an interesting choice.
