Ryan Mason outlines what Tottenham need to do as search for new manager continues
According to Football.london, interim Tottenham Hotspur boss Ryan Mason has insisted that the hierarchy needs to have a long, hard think about the direction the club wants to head in as search for a new manager continues.
Tottenham are without a permanent manager following the sacking of Jose Mourinho from the role last month. While the search for a new one continues, former midfielder Ryan Mason has been given the reins on an interim basis, and the 29-year-old has won and lost two of the four games he has been in charge of.
Speaking of the challenges that the new manager, whoever that might be, may inherit at Tottenham, Mason claimed that talks about such things will only take place over the summer, with his current task and focus being only on finishing the season strongly.
However, when pushed over the quality of the squad at hand and whether a overhaul will be necessary once the new boss takes over, Mason insisted that the current Tottenham roster is filled with great players for the new manager to work with. He also added that it was important that the hierarchy had a clear picture of what direction the club needs to go in before making the decision on the appointment.
“Absolutely, absolutely there’s some great players. It’s a big squad, it’s a very good squad as well, so there’s definite tools to work with for next season and I’m sure the chairman, the board and the football club will have a long hard think about the direction the football club wants to go in.”

Despite our struggles under Mourinho, there is no denying that there are some absolutely top-quality players already in the squad. But with a new manager coming in, there is always the chance of him wanting to build a squad in his own image. It remains to be seen who takes over as the new Tottenham manager come summer.
