Transfer News: Tottenham ready to sell Davinson Sanchez
According to transfer news from Sports Mole, Tottenham are ready to sell Davinson Sanchez in the summer. Spurs are reportedly looking to bring in a new defender and the sale of Sanchez could free up funds for the same.
Sanchez, 24, joined Tottenham Hotspur from AFC Ajax in the summer of 2017 for a then club-record transfer fee. However, the Colombian international has never quite been able to nail down a starting berth for himself, be it under Mauricio Pochettino or Jose Mourinho.
While there have been stretches where he has been top-notch, Sanchez has shown that he always has an error in him, making him largely inconsistent. In close to four years at the club, the towering centre-back has made 148 appearances across all competitions, in which he has three goals and an assist.
With Tottenham looking to strengthen their defensive ranks this summer, there will be changes made to the roster, which could spell bad news for Sanchez.
Even though the 24-year-old is contracted with the club till the summer of 2024, rumours of an exit never seem to be far away. He has seemingly lost his place in the side and is behind the likes of Dier, Alderweireld and Rodon.

Spurs are likely to take a loss on what they paid for Sanchez four years ago. The defender has largely been underwhelming in his performances and a sale could be good for both player and club. Spurs should look to reinvest that money into a replacement.
