Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa uninterested in Tottenham Hotspur job
According to The Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards on Twitter, Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa is not interested in becoming the next manager at Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur are on the hunt for a new manager following the sacking of Jose Mourinho from the role last month. A number of managers have been linked with the vacant post even as Ryan Mason has taken over on an interim basis, but Spurs are yet to taste success in their endeavours.
As per recent reports, the club had set its sights on Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa, given as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season. The Argentine has done a fine job since taking over at Elland Road in 2018, taking the club back to the Premier League after a 16-year wait.
Upon their return, the Whites have easily been the surprise package of the season in the Premier League, drawing praise for their attacking approach while they have managed to hold their own against the big teams. All this had led to Tottenham’s interest in the former Athletic Bilbao boss.
However, it is now being claimed that Bielsa is close to signing a new contract with Leeds United, committing his future to the Yorkshire-based outfit. In addition to that, Luke Edwards also goes on to clarify that the Argentine holds no interest in becoming the next Tottenham manager and has no intention of moving to London.
I'm also told Marcelo has no interest in the Spurs job or the thought of living in London #lufc https://t.co/INs252X3iM

This means, another setback for Tottenham in the pursuit of a new manager. Bielsa had the potential to be a fine choice given his tactical acumen and his propensity to play football on the front foot. However, it now means that we will have to continue looking elsewhere for Mourinho’s permanent replacement.
