Jurgen Klinsmann open to becoming Tottenham Hotspur manager

Speaking to Sky Sports, former Tottenham Hotspur star Jurgen Klinsmann has revealed that he would be open to becoming the next manager of the club ahead of the new season.

The 56-year-old had a stint at Tottenham as a player in the 1994/95 season before he had another short spell in 1998. During his time with the club, Klinsmann had an impressive return of 33 goals from 59 games, establishing himself as a firm fan favourite.

Post his retirement in 2004, Klinsmann had managerial stints with the German national team, which was followed by spells with Bayern Munich and the United States Men’s National Team. The former striker was last in charge of Hertha BSC in Bundesliga but lasted just 10 games in the 2019/20 campaign.

Despite having been out of management for over a year now, Klinsmann has thrown his hat in the ring to take over the reins at the club as Tottenham look for a new manager. Indeed, Spurs are yet to name a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho, and the 56-year-old German has admitted he would be open to the job should and approach be made.

“Definitely you’d entertain it, no doubt. He [Daniel Levy] has my number, he can call me anytime. Spurs is something that you’d always consider. I’m always in touch and doing stuff with Spurs is always something special. I had the best time of my life there during my two spells.

“In the football world, things happen so fast. I never thought I’d coach Germany or the United States so you have to have an open mind. You have to always think about new challenges, so why not Spurs?”

Klinsmann, for his all accomplishments as a player and manager, is not what Tottenham need right now. Hopefully, the club is able to identify a replacement and make an appointment at the earliest possible.
