Tottenham ace Elliot Thorpe pays tribute to departing star Danny Rose
Taking to Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur youngster Elliot Thorpe has paid tribute to veteran star Danny Rose, whose time at the club has come to an end.
Tottenham confirmed on Thursday that Danny Rose will be leaving the club now that his contract had expired. The 30-year-old brought an end to a 14-year-old association with the Lilywhites, having first joined in 2007 from Leeds United.
While there was a point when he was an undisputed starter for club and country, the past couple of years have been difficult for Rose. The Englishman fell out with Jose Mourinho and was exiled from the first-team for the entirety of the 2020/21 campaign.
Indeed, Rose was made to train with the reserves and even featured for the Under-23s at times. And, it seems like that the veteran left-back made quite the impression while he was with the development squad.
Tottenham youngster Elliot Thorpe hailed Rose’s professionalism while paying tribute to him following the confirmation of his departure.
“It’s sad that people will never know how much Danny did for all of us young players, the most professional and humble player I’ve ever met & a great guy I could go to for anything. Thank you Danny, you’ll be missed by all of us.”

Former Tottenham youngster Sam Cox, who now works as an academy coach at the club, was also full of praise for the veteran star.
“Even despite coming to the end of his contract, he still turned up to watch our young academy players last night at the stadium and give them some priceless advice after the game. A top professional and a top human being who will be missed. Love my brother.”
