Tottenham set to hold talks with PSG over Mauricio Pochettino on Monday

According to The Sun (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham Hotspur want to open talks with PSG over signing manager Mauricio Pochettino this upcoming Monday.

Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a new manager having let go of Jose Mourinho last month. Ryan Mason was named the interim manager till the end of the season but with the campaign now behind us, time to make a permanent appointment is fast approaching.

And, Tottenham, in a sensational move, are hoping to bring Pochettino back to the club. The 49-year-old Argentine left the club in 2019 after a successful five-year stint, with Daniel Levy deciding to wield the axe after a poor start to the 2019/20 season.

Pochettino took up his first job since leaving Tottenham when he signed for PSG this past January. The ex-Spurs boss immediately tasted success with the Parisian outfit, winning the French Cup and the French Super Cup. However, the Ligue 1 title eluded him and his team.

However, despite being just six months in his tenure, Pochettino is said to be unhappy with how things are run at PSG, while he has also had run-ins with sporting director Leonardo. And, Tottenham are hoping to capitalise on the situation by offering Poch a way back into the club. To that end, they are planning on starting talks with PSG as early as Monday. (h/t Daily Mail)

The belief is that Pochettino arriving would also help Spurs convince Harry Kane to stay for another year, as the England captain pushes for an exit this summer. (h/t Daily Mail)

Pochettino potentially returning to Tottenham from PSG does have some merit. The Argentine has unfinished business at the club, has grown as a manager over the past six months, having won his first trophies and could be ready to take the team to the next level.
