Tottenham director Fabio Paratici likes Nuno Espirito Santo as manager search continues

According to football.london, Tottenham Hotspur’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici admires former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo as the hunt for a new manager continues.

Tottenham’s search for a new manager, following the sacking of Jose Mourinho back in April year, has hit the rocks. The club has been linked with a host of names, most recently Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso. But talks with both parties have broken down, making the entire situation a bit bizarre and borderline embarrassing. (h/t The Athletic)

Following the latest decision to end the pursuit of Gattuso, Tottenham are once again left scratching their heads over a permanent replacement for Mourinho. And, as per the aforementioned report, Nuno Espirito Santo is someone that sporting director Paratici likes.

The 47-year-old Nuno is available this summer after he resigned from his managerial post at the end of the 2020/21 season. The Portuguese boss spent four years with the Black Country outfit, having taken over the helm of affairs in the summer of 2017.

In his first season in charge of the club, Nuno led Wolves to promotion to the Premier League. And he followed it up with two solid seasons, as the Midlands outfit achieved back-to-back seventh finishes in the English top-flight. However, following a sub-par 2020/21 campaign during which Wolves finished outside the top ten, the 47-year-old decided to call it time.
