Tottenham Hotspur set to block dream transfer for Harry Kane

According to the Irish Independent, Tottenham Hotspur will now allow superstar Harry Kane to seal a dream transfer to Manchester City this summer as the Cityzens are not willing to get drawn into a prolonged saga.

Heading into the UEFA Euro 2020, Kane has dropped strong hints that he does not wish to be at Tottenham come next season. In addition to that, he also hinted towards Manchester City being his preferred destination as well. (h/t Irish Independent)

The reigning Premier League champions are in the market for a new striker following the departure of their all-time leading goalscorer Sergio Aguero on a free transfer at the end of the 2020/21 season. And, the report adds that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola would welcome a player of Kane’s calibre.

However, despite the willingness of both the player and the manager, a transfer may not see the day of the light as Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is determined on keeping Kane at the club. Known for his tough negotiations,

Levy, in the past, has managed to get premium fees for the likes of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, with the transfer sagas getting drawn into the final weeks of the transfer windows. Manchester City, though, are keen on avoiding such situations, which could scupper the chances of a deal going through. (h/t Irish Independent)

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

Daniel Levy is likely to demand a transfer fee well in excess of £100m for Harry Kane. Not many clubs have the capability of paying such a sum, especially in the pandemic-effected market. With Manchester United also focusing on Jadon Sancho, the England captain may not secure his wish this summer even though he has alluded towards having a gentleman’s agreement with the chairman.
