Tottenham starlet Oliver Skipp to stay put amid Norwich loan interest
According to the Eastern Daily Press, Tottenham Hotspur are set to keep Oliver Skipp at the club this summer despite strong interest from fellow Premier League club Norwich City.
Skipp spent the last season out on loan with the Canaries and enjoyed a stunning spell as he played a crucial role in them securing promotion back to the Premier League. The 20-year-old featured in 45 league games, scoring one goal and setting up two more, before an injury ended his campaign.
Now back at Tottenham, Norwich have made no secret of their desires to re-sign Skipp on loan in the upcoming summer. Indeed, sporting director Stuart Webber even admitted that the club would be prepared to wait until the final minute of the transfer window to sign Skipp if they had to. However, that seems like an unlikely possibility as things stand. (h/t Eastern Daily Press)
That is because Tottenham have no intentions of letting the 20-year-old leave on yet another loan spell. A major point on new manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s brief before he took over the job was to nurture and develop the young talents coming through the ranks at Tottenham. And, Skipp, one of the brightest youngsters to have emerged out of the academy, will be a part of that.
Nuno, during his time at Wolves, handed 14 senior debuts to players under the age of 22. And a similar approach could be seen at Tottenham, with the Portuguese now happy to keep Skipp as part of his plans even as the youngster recovers from his metatarsal fracture. (h/t Eastern Daily Press)

If true, this is the right call from Nuno and Tottenham. Skipp performed exceptionally well during his time at Norwich and showed enough signs that he is ready for first-team football at Tottenham. With Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks falling down the pecking order, it could be the perfect opportunity for the youngster to be integrated into the first-team setup at the club.
