Latest Oliver Skipp injury update holds potentially positive news for Tottenham Hotspur fans
According to the latest injury update given by football.london, Tottenham Hotspur starlet Oliver Skipp is progressing well after his surgery in May and could be back in training as early as next week.
Skipp was on loan at Norwich City last season where he was a vital cog in Daniel Farke’s side. The Canaries won promotion to the Premier League by winning the Championship title.
But in the last game of the season, Skipp fractured the metatarsal bone which required surgery in May. After the operation, he has been absent from the Enfield-based centre where a number of senior players have already joined Nuno Espirito Santo’s training sessions.
However, Skipp’s progress is on the right path and he can return to training pretty soon. An excerpt from the report by Football.london regarding the England U21 international’s fitness reads:
“… Skipp’s recovery from that surgery is going very well and; if all remains on track – he could be introduced into Espirito Santo’s pre-season training as early as next week.”
Skipp could return soon
The report mentions that both Skipp and Ryan Sessegnon, who were loaned out last season, are expected to stay at the club and fight for a place in the senior team under Santo.
According to The Telegraph (Subscription Required), Manchester United and Aston Villa can find themselves in a race to sign Harry Winks. If the 25-year-old Englishman does leave, Skipp can see a bigger role in the Spurs squad.

Even if the squad stays intact, there is no reason why the 20-year-old Tottenham Academy product cannot force his way into the starting XI every now and then. But for now, the priority for fans and the club would just be to have him back in training and fit for selection.
