Transfer News: Future of Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur not in the hand of Nuno Espirito Santo

According to a report by ESPN (h/t The Express), Nuno Espirito Santo ‘would be the last person to know’ if Harry Kane was to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Kane indicated his desire to leave Spurs earlier this summer and since then, Manchester City have made a £100million bid for the 27-year-old English striker.

But when it comes to Kane’s future, owner Joe Lewis and chairman Daniel Levy would be calling the shots. Furthermore, the report deems it unlikely that Kane will resort to missing training sessions in order to force a move. (h/t The Express)

Santo was recently appointed the permanent manager of Spurs after a long search that began in April. Recently, the former Wolves coach even asserted how Kane is still a Spurs player amidst links of an exit.

Kane’s future still in doubt

“Harry is our player, period. There is no need to talk about anything else. Now is the time for him to rest. When he returns we can have a good conversation. I am looking forward to him joining the group.”

Kane has been the star man at Spurs ever since Mauricio Pochettino trusted him to be the club’s No.9.

A brimming trophy cabinet is something that every player dreams of and if Kane feels let down by the club, it would not be unwarranted. He won the Golden Boot and the Playmaker Award in the Premier League season but the club didn’t even make the UEFA Europa League spots.

But Spurs fans would hope that Spurs chiefs remain staunch in their stance and make sure he stays for at least one more season at N17 to help them win their first trophy since 2008.
