Transfer News: Liverpool to beat Tottenham Hotspur for Newcastle’s Bobby Clark
A report by ChronicleLive claims that ‘sources at the Liverpool end’ indicate that the Merseysiders have agreed upon a fee for Newcastle United starlet and Tottenham Hotspur target, Bobby Clark.
The report goes on to mention that the Toons wanted Bobby to stay and emulate the legacy of his father, Lee Clark. But it now seems like the Reds have won the race to sign the 16-year-old sensation.
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are also believed to have shared an interest in the attacking midfielder. Clark has had just 1 appearance in the U18 Premier League and is yet to feature for Newcastle’s reserve team.
But at his young age, it is a compliment to his potential that he has been handed his debut for the under-18 side. As for Spurs, it wouldn’t be a massive loss if the England youth international is at Anfield next season.
Clark to LFC all but done
However, they can live to regret not signing him a few years from now. It’s no point regretting things such as transfers in the academy and fans would understandably have their eyes towards what’s going on in the senior team.
Ever since Jose Mourinho’s sacking, things have been topsy turvy at Spurs. Daniel Levy managed to bring some stability by appointing Fabio Paratici as the club’s sporting director.
The Lilywhites’ search for a new manager, however, brought back that feeling of uncertainty among fans. And just when they started to adapt to life under Nuno Espirito Santo as the club’s new boss, Harry Kane sent things into a frenzy once again.
