Takehiro Tomiyasu confident of Tottenham move despite Arsenal interest
According to Football.london (h/t Express), Takehiro Tomiyasu is expected to join Tottenham despite interest from Arsenal. Personnel close to the deal have the confidence that the Bologna defender will indeed head to Spurs and not Arsenal.
Spurs have done some good business this season. Bryan Gil was signed in a swap deal, Pierluigi Gollini was added to provide competition to Hugo Lloris. Finally, the most recent completed deal was that of Cristian Romero and it was an important one especially after the departure of Toby Alderweireld.
It would seem that Fabio Paratici is not done adding to the side as he scours the Serie A for further signings. Takehiro Tomiyasu is a name that has done the rounds for quite a while now. An opening bid of £15million from Spurs was rejected by Bologna early last month.
Post that, the deal was placed on hold due to the player flying off to the Olympics with his nation. Over the last week or so, there has been an interesting development with Arsenal entering the race for him. However, there is confidence from Tomiyasu’s camp that he will head to Spurs and not Arsenal and a deal can be worked out now that he is back from the Olympics.

This is definitely good news for us as the addition of another defender could be a welcome one. Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez are not the most reliable of names. Tomiyasu can represent a decent upgrade on them. It would be all the sweeter given Spurs would leapfrog Arsenal to get him.
