Transfer News: Moussa Sissoko expected to leave Tottenham
According to transfer news from reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, Moussa Sissoko is set to leave Tottenham this summer. The club are trying to find an appropriate solution for him as they are keen to get him off their books.
Sissoko signed for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2016 from Newcastle United for a then club-record transfer fee of £30m. After a difficult debut season in London, the 31-year-old grew into somewhat of a regular for the club and has, to date, made 202 appearances, scoring five goals and setting up 15 more. There is not a lot to be lost if Sissoko does indeed make a move. At 31, his best days are past him. He will likely get very few games and moving him on frees up the wage bill. The energetic Frenchman has served the club well but looks off-pace in recent times. That has led to Spurs considering a sale for him. However, it would seem that he is unlikely to be in the plans for new manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Spurs are working to find an appropriate solution for Sissoko. The French midfielder will be expected to exit the club over the summer transfer window.

Spurs are in a reset mode. The old guard is being done away with, with the likes of Toby Alderweireld leaving and new blood arriving in the form of Cristian Romero. In that tune, Spurs are hoping they can get Sissoko off their book. He is unlikely to fetch a big amount given his age but it will help Spurs regardless.
