Nuno axes Tottenham ace Tanguy Ndombele in the squad for Europa Conference League game
Tottenham Hotspur are set to begin their UEFA Europa Conference League campaign this Thursday as they will be the first leg of their play-off tie against Portuguese club Pacos de Ferreira.
However, they will be without Tanguy Ndombele, who did not feature in any of Tottenham’s pre-season games this season while he also failed to make the squad to face Manchester City yesterday, although Spurs did come out victorious nevertheless.
Moreover, Ndombele will not feature in both legs of the play-off-tie after the squads were released on the UEFA Website. Nuno Espirito Santo was asked about the player recently, and the Portuguese reiterated that the decision to leave the player is not due to any injury, and it is ‘not yet the moment‘ for him to be part of the game.
However, Tottenham’s star centre-forward in Harry Kane has been named in the squad after the forward returned to training late last week. There have been a lot of rumours surrounding the player’s future, but it looks like he might have a part to play in Thursday’s game in the capacity of a Spurs player, something that would please the eye of several fans of the club.
If Spurs do manage to win the play-off tie and get to the group stage of the competition, they will have to adhere to UEFA’s guidelines of submitting their squads within time, which for Tottenham will be until 11 pm on the 2nd of September.

If Ndombele does hope to be a part of this squad, he will have to prove his fitness to his Portuguese boss. Apart from the Frenchman, Serge Aurier has also missed out on the squad for the game on Thursday as Tottenham look to advance to the group stage of the first edition of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
