Injured Tottenham quartet to be assessed ahead of Crystal Palace game
Tottenham have been hit hard with the international break. It’s not good news for a side that wants to resume their winning run of three games in the league. Tottenham are staring at the worst possible scenario of seven players being ruled out of the weekend game against Crystal Palace.
While it is known that the trio of Davinson Sanchez, Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso are quarantining for the next 10 days, the injuries are what will concern Spurs as the players are scheduled to return to the club by today. A total of four players have suffered various injuries on their travails.
Star attacker Son Heung-Min is said to be down with a calf strain and missed South Korea’s game against Lebanon. It was said to be a precautionary measure more than anything. Dutch winger Steven Bergwijn came off against Turkey at the hour mark but was later seen with his foot wrapped with a bandage and ice. (h/t Evening Standard)
Ryan Sessegnon suffered a knock and it was unclear as to where he got that. That led him to withdraw from the England U-21’s and he is ruled out of the weekend game. Oliver Skipp managed to play the game against Kosovo but came off with a groin injury. All four players are set to be assessed over the severity of their injuries and whether they will be fit to take the trip to Selhurst Park.
