“Same on the pitch”- 26-year-old Tottenham star ready for ‘massive fight’ vs Chelsea

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg says Tottenham Hotspur are ready to face Chelsea in London derby

Speaking to Spurs TV (h/t Football.london), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg claims that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to ‘fight’ against Chelsea. The Danish midfielder gave credit to Chelsea but sent out a warning that Spurs are going to go toe-to-toe on Sunday in the London derby.

After a loss and draw in consecutive games, Spurs have been hit with a brutal reality check. They had won their first three league games but the loss to Crystal Palace and draw over Rennes has managed to sour things a bit. It has not been helped by the numerous injuries racking up and Sunday could be a whole different challenge.

Chelsea make the visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a London derby. Not only are Chelsea the current holders of the Champions League but they are also one of the most in-form sides. So far, they have dropped only two points in the league and have looked rather menacing in their games.

26-year-old Spurs star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who scored the equaliser against Rennes, has stayed upbeat despite the recent results. He did acknowledge that Chelsea are a good side but added that Spurs are also ready to take the game to their London rivals (h/t Football.london).

“Chelsea is a fantastic team. They have shown with their results and with the investments they have made they have done incredible. We are there, we are ready, we are playing at home in our beautiful stadium with our fans, lets say putting all the pressure they can put, and we’ll do the same on the pitch and we’re ready for a massive fight.”

It will not be easy for Spurs by any means as they are going into the game in bad form while Chelsea are in the opposite spectrum. It will take some degree of luck and a mammoth effort from the team to get a result in this one. The derby promises to be an intriguing affair from the looks of it.
