Transfer News: Manchester United are considering signing Tottenham star Tanguy Ndombele
According to Calciomercato (h/t Express), Manchester United have added Tottenham Hotspur ace Tanguy Ndombele to their shopping list. Apparently, the midfielder is among the backup options United have lined up in the event that Paul Pogba decides to leave the club.
It’s not really that hard to summarize Tottenham’s relationship with Ndombele. They cannot live without him and neither can they live with him. Ndombele is likely one of Spurs’ best creative midfielders who can crack open defences with ease on his day. Yet, consistency has been a problem for him.

The enigmatic midfielder has never had a consistent run in the side since his move in 2019 and often kept falling out with his managers. It was only recently that he made his comeback to the side after missing a number of games. It definitely put some question marks over his attitude but it would seem he still has admirers.
Manchester United have a huge problem with Pogba’s contract situation. Should the possibility arise that he leaves, United have kept Franck Kessie, followed by Tanguy Ndombele as backups. Both the French players are somewhat similar in their style of play, hence it was not surprising to see United coming after Ndombele.

Spurs might be having a tough time with Ndombele. However, they haven’t really shown any intention of letting him go, let alone to a rival side. The 24-year-old still has three years left on his deal, which means Spurs should be under no pressure to sell. It will be interesting to see what will happen if United do end up wanting him next season.
