Opponent Watch: Arsenal injury news ahead of Tottenham derby

Tottenham Hotspur are all set to take on Arsenal in the North London derby in the Premier League on Sunday. Mikel Arteta’s side have a fair number of injuries and suspensions to deal with as they host their arch-rivals in a hotly contested derby as seen in recent years (h/t Football.london).

There are quite some interesting fixtures over the 6th match week of the Premier League. Chelsea take on Manchester City, Manchester United take on Aston Villa and Liverpool taking on Brentford. However, we have a derby on our hands as Arsenal host Spurs in the North London derby on Sunday.

Both sides have been in mixed form with Arsenal winning the last two league games and Spurs losing their two. Regardless, preparations are underway from both sides. Arsenal will have some changes to make as a few players are set to return from injuries and suspensions. Thomas Partey will be hopeful of making it for the game after his outing last time. He is no longer at risk of an injury as confirmed by Arteta.

Granit Xhaka has served his three-game suspension and also recovered from COVID, meaning that he will be expected to return to the fold. Mohamed Elneny is on the way to recovery from a hamstring issue and should be in line to make an appearance against Spurs. Perhaps Kieran Tierney is the only name who might be doubtful for the game (h/t Football.london).

This fixture never fails to disappoint as both teams vie for the bragging rights of North London. Fireworks are seen every time they clash and there is an expectation that Sunday will also play out in a similar pattern.
