Transfer News: Tottenham and Arsenal set to battle over Anthony Martial in January

According to transfer news from Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Tottenham and Arsenal are set to battle over the signature of Anthony Martial in January. The reputed journalist added that a bidding war could take place and offers could be made when the transfer window reopens.

There’s something increasingly frustrating and equally amazing about watching Martial. Since the time he has been in the Premier League, he has shown clinical finishing on many occasions and was regarded as a bright prospect. However, at 25, he has hardly looked like the talent one expected him to develop into.

His attitude has often been questioned and his inconsistency levels have been off the charts. Hence, it was rather surprising to learn of Spurs’ interest in the forward. However, one cannot fault them for looking to bring in another striker as there are no other centre-forwards in the side apart from Harry Kane.

It would seem that Spurs are not the only side after him. Arsenal are apparently also in the chase. Both sides could enter a bidding war for the faltering striker from Manchester United. Journalist Ekrem Konur claimed that the rivals could end up making offers for the Frenchman in January.

Tottenham are not only battling Arsenal on the field it would seem with the North London derby on the weekend but also off the field over Anthony Martial. This could be one to keep an eye out for but we will still have to wait till January to see how it pans out exactly. Martial may not be the most reliable of options but it’s better to have one backup rather than none.
