Tottenham Hotspur scout 22-year-old Stoke City defender Harry Souttar
According to Stoke On Trent Live, Tottenham Hostpur have been scouting 22-year-old centre-back Harry Souttar from Stoke City.
Souttar joined Stoke City in 2016 as a teenager from Dundee United. He has made great progress with the Potters at grown a lot in terms of his skill and technique with loan spells at Ross County and Fleetwood Town. He was brought into the first-team fray by Michael O’Neill during the 2020/21 season.
The Stoke City manager has spoken highly on the young defender’s ability.
“I think he’s growing all the time, I think he’s enjoying the responsibility he has. He’s developed as a defender as well. There are a lot of defenders in this league who, when the ball goes behind them, they concede throw-ins or corners and Harry has the composure to go back to his goalkeeper or deal with the situation himself, play forward, and rebuild the game.”
The young Australian defender has shown a lot of promise in the Championship with the Potters. The youngster is also linked with Everton who could see him as a replacement for Yerry Mina. The 22-year-old would definitely be a great addition and a future investment at any club provided that he is developed and nurtured in the right manner.
The Championship can be very demanding physically and his time in that League could help him adapt to top-flight football in England should he make the move to Tottenham Hotspur or any other PL club. The promise of European competitions and a better challenge could lure the youngster away from the bet365 stadium.

That being said Souttar would certainly have to fight for his place with more senior and experienced players around him. The atmosphere at a top club like Spurs can also be unforgiving at times as every game and move is closely monitored and scrutinised.
Any possibility of a move is very tentative at this stage but under the right circumstances, Souttar could be a great addition to Tottenham Hotspur.
